FLYT Simulations has the honor and pride in announcing the development of the Champaign-Urbana city scene and airports in the state of Illinois in the USA.
For those just like FLYT, who has the history of virtual aviation in their hearts, you probably know that the development of early flight simulators like Microsoft Flight Simulator has its roots in this very special city. Bruce Artwick the creator of the Sublogic Flight Simulator, which became later the Microsoft Flight Simulator, started the development of this software, so loved by all of us, exactly in that region at the University of Illinois in Champaign. For us, it has been an honor and a trip in Flight Simulator’s history developing this scenery, and to recall one of the most common flights; Taking off from Chicago Meigs heading to Champaign and practicing an instrument approach at that airport is a joy!
We are working to offer the entire city of Champaign, including the University of Illinois Willard Airport (KCMI) and Frasca City (C16) airfields, covering a total area of 900km2, with satellite images in high definition and detailed autogen. We will be making versions for Prepar3d and XPlane 11 available for purchase. We hope you guys are as excited as we are! Check out some exclusive screenshots of the development.
